All-Shift Capture

< 1 min read

Definition #

The discipline of capturing every read, observation, and signal continuously across a full shift — in micro-form, in motion — rather than waiting for post-shift to generate the record from memory.

Family #

Canon. Child of [The Read]; works alongside [Everything Feeds The Read] and [All Reads Feed The Read] to complete the Read’s architecture.

Why Behind the Thinking #

The Read does not wait for post-shift to happen. The trainer captures between tickets, the lead captures between rounds, the operator captures between table visits — a line on a card, a voice memo, a quick note, not a paragraph. By the time post-shift arrives, memory has already begun to compress and flatten what was actually observed; the details that matter live in the shift, not in the memory of the shift. Post-shift work becomes organizing the captured stream rather than generating one from memory — two smaller jobs instead of one impossible one ([perspective_recompiled_07.08.2026.txt]).
