Step 6 of [Operator R&D]. The document that formally initiates a pilot — stating the hypothesis, declaring both instruments to be watched (the lagging metric and the GX indicator), and defining the test window in advance.

Why Behind the Thinking #

A vague unease becomes a named problem, a named problem becomes assembled evidence, assembled evidence becomes a testable proposition — and a testable proposition becomes an [R&D Brief]. Without the brief, the test runs informally against an undeclared standard, and [Informal Instrumentation] reclaims the evaluation the moment results become ambiguous. The declared criteria in the brief are the protection against the informal process reasserting itself mid-pilot. The window is not “until it feels right” — it is a named period, one period minimum, two periods for anything touching Guest behavior, which lags by nature.
